Convocation Robe

Robe Set

  1. A complete Convocation Robe Set consists of:
    • Black convocation robe
    • Cap (mortarboard/beefeater)
    • Hood (colour according to faculty)
    • Sash (for Outstanding Award Recipients only.
  2. Graduands with an incomplete Convocation Robe Set WILL NOT BE ALLOWED to enter the Convocation Hall.
  3. Graduands are NOT ALLOWED to alter or modify the rented convocation robe.
  4. Graduands are fully responsible for the rented convocation robe and MUST bring the complete robe set with them on the day of the Convocation Ceremony.
  5. Graduands are NOT ALLOWED to wear or add any decorative accessories to the Convocation Robe Set.

Robe Collection and Returning

Graduands are required to collect and return their convocation robes at Tun Razak Hall 3, Level 3, World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur (WTCKL).

Robe Collection

  1. Graduands are required to collect their convocation robes from the Robe Collection Counter at Tun Razak Hall 3, Level 3.
  2. Convocation robes must be collected no later than one (1) day before the respective Convocation Ceremony session. Robe collection on the day of the ceremony WILL NOT BE ALLOWED.
  3. The Robe Collection Counter will operate daily from 15 to 22 December 2026, from 8.30 a.m. to 4.30 p.m.
  4. Graduands are allowed to collect a convocation robe on behalf of another graduand, subject to the following conditions:
    • A graduand may represent only one (1) other graduand.
    • Both graduands must be from the same Convocation Ceremony session.
    • All required payments and documents must have been completed by the graduand concerned.
  5. Graduands are required to present their Convocation Attendance Confirmation Slip (soft copy or hard copy) to obtain the Robe Collection Process Checklist and RFID Card during robe collection.

Returning the Robe

  1. Graduands are required to return their convocation robes to the Robe Return Counter at Tun Razak Hall 3, Level 3.
  2. The Robe Return Counter will operate daily from 17 to 23 December 2026, from 8.30 a.m. to 6.30 p.m.
  3. Graduands must ensure that the convocation robe is returned in good, clean and complete condition.

Tips for wearing the robe

The robe must be worn neatly and properly as follows:

  • The hood should rest evenly across both shoulders, above shoulder level.
  • The graduation cap (mortar board / beefeater) should be worn with the tassel hanging at the front right side.
